I’d like to sell my 1988 Volkswagen Cabriolet to a collector who’d adore it as much as I have because I no longer drive it. I bought the VW Cabriolet new at Westside VW in St Louis Park, MN, and I’ve been the only owner of the car. It now shows 117,035 miles on its odometer. I’ve always stored the car in heated garages. The car has never been involved in an accident. The car shows no rust. I have all the car’s maintenance records, as well as its original window sticker and sales brochure. Options listed on the car’s original window sticker include: five-speed manual transmission; integrated bumpers; all-around tinted glass; gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature, voltmeter, tachometer; radio w/cassette deck and digital tuning (locked, despite my use of a proven security code); electric rear-window defroster; lockable fuel cap; cloth upholstery (water stains on driver’s seat need shampooing); power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering; sport-steering wheel; padded top with cover; intermittent wipers; sapphire clear-coat metallic; cruise control with resume feature; air conditioning (coolant needs re-booting.) I added to the car, many years ago, an Ungo Box alarm system with glass-break feature (now disabled) and higher-quality speakers, which fit into the pre-existing housings. I store the car at Classic Auto Storage in Minneapolis, where the owner of the facility periodically starts the car, charges its battery, and moves it for storage-related purposes.
Protective-wide moldings; fully reclining seats with height adjustment for driver’s seat and adjustable head restraints; rear-folding seat with locking provisions; 13-inch alloy wheels. The car runs best on non-oxygenated (ethanol-free) gasoline.
