The Classic Car Appraisal Service carefully examined this 1972 Chevrolet Corvette  convertible to prepare it for auction. All information has been copied from their appraisal, received January 2023. Vehicle has been stored in a climate controlled museum. Vehicle starts and runs well.

The odometer on this code-912 Sunflower Yellow exterior and code-400 black vinyl interior Corvette convertible shows 74,365 miles; this is the correct total mileage on the  car. Amenities include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: numbers-matching CKW-code 350cid/200bhp V8 engine; 4-speed transmission; posi-traction rear axle; AM/FM radio; clock; full gauges; luggage rack; and black convertible top. The tires are newer Goodyear Eagle GT II P225/75R15 white letter radials mounted on rally wheels, with center caps and trim rings.

HISTORICAL: Chevrolet built only 6508 convertibles in 1972, at a base price of $5269. This mostly original, rust-free 1972 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is in good condition with fair paint.

MECHANICAL: The engine starts easily and idles smoothly, and the transmission  works well and shifts easily. The brakes bring the car to a straight stop. The steering is smooth, easy and is straight down the road. The engine has its original intake manifold, air cleaner, and chrome shielding.

EXTERIOR: The exterior physical condition of this vehicle’s fiberglass is very good with no cracks around the car or broken fiberglass in the wheel lips. All the body panels appear to be original and align nicely, but the side panel seams on all four fenders are showing through the paint. The car appears to have been repainted in its original color many years ago. The chrome bumpers and trim around the car have minor pits and surface scratches. The windshield and other glass are all in very good condition. The black convertible top is in good condition.

INTERIOR: The original code-400 black vinyl upholstery is in very good condition. The foam and springs in the seats seem firm and the vinyl has no rips or holes. The original door panels are very good. The dash and dash pad are very good, and the plastic steering wheel has no cracks. The interior stainless/chrome trim pieces all appear to be original, with normal wear and minor pits.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original engine and engine compartment are clean, but the  paint is flaking off the valve covers. The engine accessories all appear authentic and correct,  and the distributer shielding is still on the car. It doesn’t appear to have any rust or corrosion.

CHASSIS: The undercarriage is all original. It is clean, but has a very small amount of  surface rust. The exhaust is in good condition.
